Digestion and Precipitation

Oatmeal takes six hours for your body to digest.

Some things take a life-time to digest.

And better yet, some things are indigestible altogether.

This morning it snowed like cherry blossoms in the front window. Fat snow caught the air like a swarm of gentle, silken parachutes. Snow slowly lilted to the ground in troves. And the parachutes disappeared into the ground as they reached the next stage of their cycles through eternity. Real cherry blossoms were the only backdrop. The trees are in full bloom already...and it's snowing. Paulina and I sat in wonderment at the window, Paulina gazing up from her book. I spoke in words, but all I remember is that my eyes were filled with cherry blossoms.

I digress to once yesterday and once the day before. Troubling clouds crept in without a sound to shield us from the sun light we've been shielded from for months. Silently, momentarily, they sat over our skies, decievingly soft and grey. I was working when a sudden clap, thud and crunch all occured in one instant. Like God shot off a gun. The dead angel fell as frozen, white rocks, falling fast and hard. The solid things bounced desperately off the ground, trying to get back to their cloud. The street was a carpet of rolling and tumbling marbles, all going downhill, to the sea. The sky stopped falling and the marbles who couldn't roll away, melted into the pavement and it was as if nothing had happened. The sun feebly looked us in the eyes. Shame-faced and cowardly sun. If we had seen what he had seen would our eyes be so sad!
